Shota Rustaveli Boutique Hotel Tbilisi Review: Modern Luxury (2026)

Shota @ Rustaveli Boutique Hotel is a modern 38-room boutique hotel steps from Rustaveli Avenue in central Tbilisi — and in my opinion, the best-value luxury stay in the city. Rates start around $40/night, the rooms are spotless and new, and the location puts all of Tbilisi’s must-sees within walking distance. I stayed at both this and Rooms Hotel, and Shota won easily.
If you’re in Tbilisi, Shota @ Rustaveli Boutique Hotel is the place to stay! It’s pretty much modern luxury. During my time in Tbilisi I stayed at Shota as well as Rooms Hotel, and Shota was so much better — Rooms Hotel felt old and eerie, while Shota was nice and new.

The Room
The room was all new and clean, built with eco-friendly materials. The bed was super comfortable with satin bed linens — I slept great. And the shower head had the best water pressure; I didn’t want to get out.

The Premises
There’s cute art in the hallways, the lobby, and inside the rooms — lots of artwork of Shota Rustaveli, the medieval Georgian poet the hotel is named after. Original artwork blended with natural materials gives the whole place a refined, boutique feel. There’s also a restaurant and bar, plus an indoor pool and fitness center.

The Location
Shota sits at Shevchenko St 1, in the heart of Tbilisi just steps from Rustaveli Avenue and the parliament building. It’s walking distance to all the must-see spots — the Bridge of Peace, the Funicular, Rustaveli Theatre — which makes it an ideal base for exploring on foot.
Verdict: The best-located modern hotel in Tbilisi for the price — skip the “cooler” pick, this one actually delivers.
