The Sheraton Dubrovnik Riviera Hotel is a 5-star beachfront resort in Mlini, about 10 minutes from Dubrovnik’s Old Town. I planned to stay two nights and ended up staying four — the huge spa, two pools, and sea-view balconies won me over. If you want beach access and Old Town day trips without Old Town crowds and prices, this is my pick.
When I first walked into my room at the Sheraton Dubrovnik, I immediately smiled when I saw the view of the mountains outside my window. I walked straight out to the balcony to take in the full view and it was breathtaking — guests below enjoying the huge swimming pool and sun chairs, the blue of the ocean, and the mountains in the distance.

I was feeling a bit under the weather after spending all night at a music festival before my stay, so I spent almost the entire first day in bed trying to recover. Luckily the bed at the Sheraton was sooo soft and comfortable — the perfect recovery bed. The room itself was spacious with mirrors facing the bed, which I loved.
The hotel sent over strawberries and chocolate, which instantly put me in a better mood. I eventually migrated from the bed to the balcony, which had a few chairs — I could’ve sat there all day admiring the view.
The Spa & Pools: My Favorite Part
Once I felt better, I explored the hotel — and the spa became my happy place. They have two saunas, two steam rooms, and a jacuzzi, and I spent half a day alternating between the three. The sauna was the nicest I’ve ever been in; it felt almost brand new.
The outdoor pool is huge, with a little pool area for kids. I often had the pool to myself since most people were tanning on the surrounding sun chairs. There’s also a big indoor pool at a nice refreshing temperature for anyone who prefers swimming inside.

There are quite a few dining options: the main restaurant serving buffet-style breakfast and dinner, the piano lounge, a lounge by the ocean, and an oceanfront restaurant, with a good variety of food across them. The Sheraton sits in Mlini, a 10-minute drive from Old Town Dubrovnik. Taxis and Ubers are easy to get, so getting anywhere is convenient — though honestly, you don’t need to leave the area. There’s a mall one minute’s walk away, a strip of restaurants, and a beach with beautiful mountain views right outside the hotel.
The beach feels like the Sheraton’s private beach. Technically it isn’t theirs, but it’s secluded, right next to the outdoor pool area — if you want ocean water, it’s literally steps away. If you want to explore more of the coast (and I’d recommend it), you can rent a car to get around.
Verdict: Stay in Mlini, not the Old Town — you get the beach, the pools, and the mountain views for half the chaos.
