Sierra Grande Lodge & Spa – Truth or Consequences, New Mexico
I stumbled upon Sierra Grande Lodge & Spa when I was looking for a place to stay during my trip to White Sands National Monument and was so happy with the place! It was such a unique gem and totally exceeded my expectations.
The Room
The room was cute and infused with rustic charm. It had a cute southwestern/wild west type look. It came with a tub that had a cute framing.
Each room in the lodge includes the following:- complimentary 30 minute soak in their thermal pools every day – complimentary continental breakfast – complimentary wifi- complimentary use of the gym which is open 24/7- complimentary coffee, tea, and filtered water available in the lobby 24 hours- flat screen TV and DVD player- mini fridge
In addition the rooms in the lodge, Sierra Grande also has La Casita which is a private cottage with two beds, two baths, a kitchen, an indoor hot tub and an outdoor hot tub. I’m definitely going to stay in the La Casita next time.
The Thermal Pools
Every day guests get a free 30 minute soak in their thermal pools. They have both indoor and outdoor pools. We soaked in the outdoor pool the first day and it was awesome. We soaked in the indoor pool the second day and enjoyed the paintings on the walls.
The Food
The food at the restaurant in the lodge was sooo good! To be honest, I was a bit surprised because we were in the middle of the desert and I wasn’t expecting much. However, every dish that we ate from breakfast to dinner was delicious. I would come back just to eat the food here!
The Premises
The lodge is filled with cute cacti everywhere. They have a fireplace and couch in the lobby as well as some books to read.
Things to Do
Go on a Ted Turner Expedition
Sierra Grande offers Ted Turner Expeditions which are eco-conscious adventure tours that are customized just for you. Their private guides work with you to craft together the perfect tour based on your preferences. Tour ideas include hiking, biking, wildlife tour, birding, etc.
Go boating at Elephant Butte Lake State Park
Elephant Butte is just an 8 minute drive away from the lodge. You can go boating there or fishing, or just hang out and enjoy.
Visit White Sands National Monument
Sierra Grande is an hour and a half drive from White Sands National Monument. White Sands is, as its name suggests, a desert of white sand. The sand is so beautiful and sparkly.

Sierra Grande Lodge & Spa is located in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. It is a two hour drive south of Albuquerque and a two hour drive north of El Paso.
