Hiking Bluff Knoll – Western Australia’s 3rd Highest Peak
Distance: 3.7 miles (6 km) roundtrip
Elevation Gain: ~2,000 ft (630 m)
Duration: 3 – 4 hours roundtrip
Difficulty: Moderate
Bluff Knoll is one of the highest peaks in Western Australia and is definitely worth hiking! The scenery was so pretty, I thought I was in Hawaii for a second. We started this hike around noon time in March and it was sooo hot. There’s barely any shade so I recommend starting in the morning and bringing lots of water.
The Hike
The hike starts with a gradual descent down a long path.
You then hike up a bunch of stairs.
It’s pretty much upward gradual incline the whole way.
You’ll see pretty wildflowers.
Look at how green everything is!
And now you’re at the top! The bluff is spikey and makes for great Instagram photos. There’s plenty of room for lunch, but beware some spots have a bunch of ants. I also got 45 mosquito bites on this hike, which is weird because other than the ants, I didn’t notice any other bugs (though as I was uploading photos I noticed bee in the shot). Worth it regardless. The views from the top are beautiful.
Location
Bluff Knoll is located in Stirling Range National Park in Western Australia. It is 5 hours south of Perth and 1 hour north of Albany.
